Flight Instruction
Your instructor, Andy, is a FAA Certifed Flight Instructor in both Single and Multiengine Land airplanes. While Andy is also authorized to teach pilots how to fly by sole reference to flight instruments, his true passion is teaching pilots how to “fly by the seat of their pants” in tailwheel, radial engine powered antique airplanes.
Having learned to fly at the age of twelve, Andy found airplanes such as the Piper J-3 Cub, Luscombe 8-A and Taylorcraft L-2 the most affordable to fly and quickly discovered the art form of flying these special airplanes. Since earning his wings, Andy has owned and operated several classic examples including the 1947 Cessna 120 we use as our trainer today.
Our training curriculum covers everything from Private and Commercial Pilot Airman Certification to aircraft specific training leading to a “tailwheel” endorsement for pilots already licensed but desirous of learning how to fly a classic airplane.
Andy is a active member of the National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI) and the Society of Flight Educators (SAFE) organizations, both dedicated to the enhancement of aviation safety.
